Meet Our Team

Curt J. Oland, O.D.

Optometric Physician

Originally from a small town in the Midwest, Dr. Oland completed his first four years of college in North Dakota. He was an integral part of running the Biology Department, managing the greenhouse and orchestrating all the anatomy labs. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in Oregon.

He practiced in Portland, Oregon for just over a year, right out of Optometry school, but was offered a great opportunity to relocate to Washington State. He spent 15 years practicing as an Independent Optometrist inside of Pearle Vision, where he was appointed as a member of the Pearle Vision Partnership Committee. He was 1 of 9 Doctors chosen out of over 700 candidates to represent Optometrists working inside of Pearle Vision, attending various meetings all over the U.S.

In 2010, he branched off and started his own Private Practice with his patient base following him to University Place. He volunteers with On the Road Partner Cafe, doing school screenings in the Fall as well as resource fairs in the Spring. He is also active with doing readiness exams with the Army National Guard and Reserves and various networking groups.

Serving patients as young as 5, Dr. Oland has grown alongside many of his longtime patients, seeing them go from their first pair as a child, to bringing in kids of their own for their first exams later in life. His specialty is hard to fit contact lens wearers, with emphasis on multifocal and contacts for astigmatism. As a Diabetic himself, he prides himself on his extensive care in Diabetic Retinopathy.

He enjoys spending time with his two kids and friends, as well as watching sports while rooting for his favorite teams. You can always find him Networking,  competing at local trivia nights or furthering his education in Optometry to keep up with the latest technology.
